Review - Summary

Full Tilt Poker is a very ambitious poker room launched in July 2004. Full Tilt Poker has a number of world-class poker pro endorsers such as Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Mike Matusow and Erik Seidel who play a lot on the site and not just at the highest limits. Anyone playing on the site is likely to find a pro playing somewhere and, if a seat opens up, you can be playing a world famous poker pro the next hand.

At Full Tilt Poker, there is action to be found at any poker game and at any limit. Full Tilt Poker is unique in the online poker business in offering ultra high-stakes games. For the high-stakes player and the railbird alike there is often monster action to play in or watch at tables filled with the best in the world, playing for pots of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The graphics are innovative with cartoon-style avatars. The software is good and different; it has some innovative functions, is very stable and is clearly on par with the best in the business. The traffic volume overall is in the top segment of the industry. Real money player statistics as of December 2006 show 5,000-7,000 ring-game players at peak hours, and 18,000-25,000 tournament players at peak hours.

Reviews - Software

Full Tilt Poker's graphics are fun and have a different look and feel than most competitors. Each player has a choice of several good-looking avatars that can display different emotions to add some spice to the game. The player can also choose different background environments.

The software is prompt, very reliable and updated frequently to ensure safety and stability. It is compatible with Macs and supports player notes, muting individual player chats, and changing the table view to another player's seat. The statistics function is good with decent information.

The tables now come in two versions, the classic round table (the original Full Tilt Poker table) and a table size that is called "racetrack." The racetrack is a smaller, oval table that, at a glance, seems even nicer. With the new racetrack tables comes a complete set of new table backgrounds that are pleasant and soothing - perfectly matched with the table setting. Players can choose both table variations with or without avatars.

Overall, Fill Tilt Poker runs on excellent software.

Review - Graphics

The volume is very high and concentrated to low stakes no-limit Holdem. There are typically 5,000-7,000 players at peak hours, out of which at least 90-95% is in the Holdem section (Dec, 2006).

Review - Tourn Trafic

As one of the market leaders in traffic Full Tilt Poker has an initial tournament traffic of 18,000-25,000 real money players at peak hours (Dec, 2006).

Reviews - Game Variety

Full Tilt Poker offers excellent game variety spreading the games Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud Hi, Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo and Razz. Recently Full Tilt Poker added a mixed games section that features several new games.

The mixed games include H.A. (Hold'em and Omaha Hi), H.O.R.S.E. (Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven-Card Stud and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo) and H.O.S.E. (Hold'em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Seven-Card Stud and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo). With this new addition Full Tilt Poker is now the most diverse poker room in the world.

There are No-Limit and Pot-Limit in Hold'em and Pot-Limit in both Omaha variants, while the Stud and Razz games are played in Limit only. The mixed games are played in Limit versions except for H.A. which is Pot-Limit.

Reviews - Rake

The rake is slightly higher than the average of the industry. The rake is 5% and taken in tight intervalls. Full Tilt Poker has a "No Flop - No Drop" rake policy, like most sites. A maximum of $1 is taken out of the pots up to $1/$2 games. At higher limits, $2/$4 and above, Full Tilt Poker has a max rake of $3 and the rake structure is analogous to most other sites.

Reviews - Soft Competition

The is semi-tough (it started out with average tough games in the summer of 2004). The fixed limit games are the toughest, where most average players will loose at almost any longer session. The no-limit games are a bit less tough, but still clearly more difficult to win at than at average online poker rooms.
