Review - Summary

Bodog is a sports book and casino since 1995 and their poker room opened quite recently (Sep 2004). The poker room is one of the "hottest" rooms today and is rapidly growing. The graphics are good and combined with a very functional lobby which is quick and easy to overview. The software is fast and offers great playability. Bodog Poker is not yet a super-high player volume room and the ring games are mostly concentrated to No-Limit Hold'em at the micro limits, but there are plenty of middle limit games to choose from as well. They are working independently and are not part of a poker room network, as they are already an established online casino and sports book making a big investment into online poker. Real money player statistics - Oct, 2006: 3,200-3,950 ring game players during peak hours and 8,000-10,000 tournament players during peak hours.

Reviews - Software

Launched brand new software in Jan, 2006, called Bodog 2.0. The Bodog Poker software is a full feature software. It runs fast and smooth with good playability. There exists many options to customize your playing experience. Among other things, it allows you to take notes of the opposition during play and the lobby supply vital table statistics like 'viewed flop percentage' and average pot, but not hands played per hour. During play you can see statistics of your own play, for example how often you see the flop, win percentage and more. Bodog's software currently supports play at 3 tables simultaneously and you are always seated at the center. You can view all three tables in the same screen and actually play the "mini version" tables while having one main game up on the big screen. You can now simultaneously view up to 3 full screen tables. The graphics are clean and classy, but on the neagtive side the avatars are a bit clustered which makes it harder to see who is in a hand or not. Quite unique is the fact that they no longer use the classic "table" design instead you get the feeling of "floating" on a big red carpet (a new design that we've received various judgements on). It seems that players either tend to loves it or hates it. One cool feature is the option to watch a miniview of a specific table while at the same time browsing around in the lobby. Also, during a hand, your cards will be shown (but only to you) even after you folded so that you can see whether or not you'd hit the nuts on the river. Beware, when you sit down at a new table so that you don't have "auto post blind" checked as this is the automatic setting by Bodog (annoying to post the big blind when seated under the gun!).

Review - Graphics

Traffic has not reached considerable volume and play is concentrated on low stakes No-Limit Hold'em at the moment ($1-$2 down to $0.05-$0.10 games). There are always games at $5-$10 NLH and up to $30-$60 for limit Hold'em. There are typically 3,200-3,950 players during peak hours, out of which at least 90-95% are in the Hold'em section (Oct, 2006).

Review - Tourn Trafic

Bodog Poker has tournament traffic of 8,000-10,000 real money players during peak hours (Oct, 2006)

Reviews - Game Variety

The game variety is high, although the actual volume is low at some of the less mainstream games. The games offered are all variations of Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha High-Low, Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Stud High-Low, and Five-Card Stud. The games vary between No-Limit, Pot-Limit, and Fixed-Limit. Full-table games, short-handed, and heads-up tables are all available. The games are concentrated on the No-Limit Hold'em micro limits but with plenty of other options for middle stakes player who enjoys both Limit and No-Limit games.

Reviews - Rake

Bodog Poker uses a 'no flop, no drop' policy, meaning they do not take out any rake from pots where there was no flop. The rake is at a maximum of 5% on all types of games and stops at $3. The rake varies depending on whether there are 2, 3, 4-5, or more than 6 players at the table.

Reviews - Soft Competition

The traffic is at its greatest at the micro-limits and the games vary from loose to very loose, often with a 'viewed flop percentage' reaching upwards of 60% to 80%. This translates to very juicy and loose games for the small stakes player. In addition, you can normally find great No-Limit Hold'em games up to the $5-$10 limits.

Reviews - Sign-up Bonus

They also offer a continuous re-load bonus of 10% on each deposit (the re-load bonuses are paid out upfront). You must play enough hands to earn 300 Bodog Poker Points or place $1,000 in wagers in the sportsbook or racebook or place $5,000 in wagers in the casino before you are eligible for a withdrawal after the $100 UPFRONT bonus. Bodog Poker has a standard 10% sign-up bonus match up to unlimited dollars. In practice the limit is set by the limits on the deposit options. For example, if you make a re-load deposit of $1,000 via NETeller the match-up of 10% gives you $100 in bonus. The rollover for sign-up bonus as well as re-load bonuses is generous, meaning it is fairly easy to get the bonus paid out. You must earn 3 Bodog Poker Points for every bonus dollar issued before being eligible for a withdrawal i.e. if you earn a $100 bonus, you must earn 300 Bodog Poker Points before placing a withdrawal.

Reviews - Loyalty Bonus

Titan Poker uses a Player Point system as part of their good VIP program. Loyal players get entered into special free rolls and can get high value re-load bonus offers. For each played hand with a raked pot a player earns 1-18 points depending on rake taken and the players VIP level (Bronze,Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Titanium). Points are awarded as follows for Bronze level: $0.25/$0.50 rake earns 1 point, $0.51/$1.00 rake earns 2.5 points, $1.01/$1.50 rake earns 5 points, $1,51-$2,00 rake earns 10 points and $2,01-$3,00 rake earns 11 points. For each $1 in tournament fees 20 points are awarded to bronze members (25 for silver members 30 for Gold members and 35 for Platinum members and 40 for Titanium members).

Reviews - Support
